Brook Lopez coming back to the Milwaukee Bucks may not be as clear cut as previously thought.
Following the conclusion of the 2023 NBA Draft, ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski provided a bit of a sobering update for Bucks fans when it comes to the pending free agency of big man Brook Lopez.
“The Bucks are also facing Brook Lopez’s free agency. There’s an expectation that the Houston Rockets, flushed with a lot of salary cap space, are going to be a real threat for Lopez,” Wojnarowski stated when it pertains to Lopez’s potential future in Milwaukee. (quotes via Clutch Points)
Lopez, 35, is coming off of a near-All Star caliber season during his fifth season in Milwaukee. The star big man averaged 15.9 points per game to go along with 6.7 rebounds, 1.3 assists, 0.5 steals, and 2.5 blocks.
Earlier in the night, the Bucks made a move up the board and acquired the 36th overall pick from the Orlando Magic to select G/F, Andre Jackson Jr., who is fresh off of a National Championship with the UConn Huskies. With the 58th and final selection in the 2023 NBA Draft, the club tabbed Kentucky Forward, Chris Livingston. Following the conclusion of the draft, the Bucks immediately turned their attention to the undrafted free agent market and agreed to terms to a two-way contract with San Jose State guard, Omari Moore.
