The Wisconsin football staff has made the cut for touted 2024 four-star offensive tackle Liam Andrews after the recruit announces his final eight schools.
Liam Andrews, a 2024 four-star recruit from Massachusetts, is ranked as one of the top interior linemen in the recruiting class. While Andrews predominantly plays tackle, he is expected to shift over to guard in college as he is better suited for that position. Andrews currently has 22 scholarship offers and he is expected to make his commitment sometime in June following his official visits.
Wisconsin Badgers Football Closing In On Highly Touted 2024 Recruit Liam Andrews
The Wisconsin football staff has been on the hunt for a top offensive tackle in the 2024 and 2025 recruiting classes for quite some time now. Andrews is the last major target along the offensive line that the Badgers are still in contention for. The 6-foot-5-inch, 265-pound lineman has the power and size to dominate at the collegiate level. Andrews has drawn plenty of attention from major programs, including Ohio State, Penn State, LSU, and Florida among others.
Currently, Andrews ranks as the second overall recruit in Massachusetts and the fourth interior offensive lineman in the class. The offensive lineman also ranks as the 82nd recruit in the 2024 recruiting class. The only player ranking above Andrews is offensive tackle Guerby Lambert, who also holds an offer from the Wisconsin Badgers football team. However, Lambert has been out of the Badgers for awhile now after cutting down his recruitment list.
The Wisconsin Badgers are still eager to land a powerful lineman, and they may have found just the man for the job. Andrews is a brick wall with the speed to cover the backfield and shift over to make blocks on opposing rushers. The talented lineman rarely allows anyone past him and often punishes the other team by throwing players around. Andrews is also an accomplished defensive end for his high school serving as a dominant run-stopper this past season.
No matter which line Andrews is put on, he is an absolute athlete when he steps onto the football field. The talented recruit can do whatever his team needs him to do, which has added to his potential collegiate value. The Wisconsin Badgers football staff has made sure they stay close to the recruit throughout his entire process.
Will The Wisconsin Football Staff Land An Exceptional Lineman?
Liam Andrews just recently cut down his recruiting list to eight schools. The schools consist of Oklahoma, Ohio State, Miami (FL), Penn State, Florida, South Carolina, LSU, and Wisconsin. All eight teams have heavily recruited Andrews up to this point, but the question of where the recruit will land still remains.
The recruit has already made three visits this year to Penn State, Oklahoma, and Wisconsin, respectively. The Badgers hosted Andrews earlier this year during their Junior day festivities. Defensive line coach Greg Scruggs has been one of the leading recruiters on Andrews, which may be a hint towards which position Andrews may play in college.
Regardless of which position he plays, the Wisconsin football staff will have to continue to recruit hard to land Liam Andrews.
