5 Packers Players Who Need to Reach Their Full Potential

In its history, the Green Bay Packers have 13 NFL titles, a record in the history of the National Football League, with 9 of them predating the Super Bowl era and 4 winning after the creation of the biggest sporting event in the United States. With such a glorious past, there have been so many great Packers players.

We list here 5 Packers players we want to see reach their full potential this year. If you want to enjoy the football season with betting involved, check out the list of NFL betting picks by the experienced community on OLBG.

5 Packers Players Who Need to Perform

    Josiah Deguara

With wide receiver Davante Adams traded to the Las Vegas Raiders, tight end Josiah Deguara wants to fill the gap left by the player in the Green Bay Packers.

Deguara was selected in the third round of the 2020 NFL Draft but missed most of his rookie season with a knee injury. In 2021, he played 16 games and finished the year with 25 passes received, 245 yards, and two touchdowns.

    Amari Rodgers

Rodgers has a lot of potential. He’s an athletic player and can deliver a lot. The fact that he didn’t play was, above all, because of his failures as a player, both in training and in matches. But there is still hope for the now sophomore. It’s extremely common for rookie WRs to suffer in the NFL and start playing better starting in their sophomore year.

One of the things Rodgers lacked was trust, especially in himself and his connection to Aaron Rodgers. And according to coach Vrabel, the WR worked on this issue throughout the offseason. “I talked to him a lot during the offseason, and he made clear that he worked hard to improve his confidence. How is confidence improved? ” You work and train harder than you ever did,” explained Vrabel.

    Sammy Watkins

Once seen as the top wide receiver for a franchise coming out of College in 2014, the player suffered a lot from injuries in the early years of the Buffalo Bills and was traded to the Los Angeles Rams in the year 2017, recording eight touchdowns in 15 games. After a solid season in California, Watkins signed for three years for 48 million dollars with the Kansas City Chiefs.

Due to the low performance, he did not renew with the Chiefs and signed with the Baltimore Ravens in 2021 where the situation was the mass when he recorded the worst mark of receiving yards in his career. Wait on the Packers, maintain consistency and help Aaron Rodgers win another Super Bowl.

    Mason Crosby

Nearly all of the team’s kicking records are held by the 37-year-old, but Crosby is coming off a very dismal 2021 and will now have to compete throughout training camp. Last season, he missed two extra points and nine field goals. Pat O’Donnell, a seasoned punter and holder, is something the Packers believe will improve the field goal operation.

Can Crosby, as he has so often in his career, win a contest and recover from a bad season? To return to the Super Bowl, the Packers need a reliable kicker, and Crosby is the best choice on the roster when he executes. After this season, his contract expires. Therefore this might be Crosby’s final game in Green Bay in 2022.

    Royce Newman

There were clear peaks and dips in Newman’s performance during his over 1,100 snaps at right guard as a rookie. Still, the Packers used three picks on offensive linemen this year, including two who might immediately compete with him for the starting correct guard position.

It’s plausible that Newman, who played correct tackle in college, has a legitimate shot at starting at that position now that Elgton Jenkins and David Bakhtiari are entering training camp with injury concerns. If he wants to be a full-time starter on the right side, the Packers need him to improve significantly in year two, regardless of position.
