The Green Bay Packers have a ton of decisions to make as the 2023 NFL offseason gets underway. Obviously, the first and biggest decision will be on the future of superstar quarterback Aaron Rodgers. After that, the roster has to be built and Green Bay has quite a few free agency decisions that need to be made.
One of those decisions will come on veteran wide receiver Allen Lazard. It seems likely that he will end up leaving Green Bay in free agency, but there have been some reports that the Packers have considered bringing him back.
Quite simply, the Packers may not have a choice in the matter. Lazard seemed to all but say he was leaving Green Bay after the team’s Week 18 loss to the Detroit Lions. But, a good offer could change his mind.
2 New Teams Showing Interest In Packers’ Allen Lazard In Free Agency
According to a report from Matthew Berry of ESPN, the Kansas City Chiefs and Baltimore Ravens both have interest in signing Lazard this offseason.
Rumors: The #Ravens and #Chiefs really like free agent WR Allen Lazard, per @MatthewBerryTMR
With one source even hearing this phrase on the free agent receiver:

Can we talk about the quote that was also shared about the two teams being interested in Lazard? Now that’s some serious interest.
Allen Lazard is certainly going to be a hot commodity on the free agency market. There are quite a few teams around the NFL that could use more help at the wide receiver position. Not only is Lazard a good wideout, he is also an elite blocker at the wide receiver position.

During the 2022 season with the Packers, Lazard ended up becoming arguably Rodgers’ go-to target. He had a nice year, but did not live up to all of the hype that had surrounded him coming into the season. Lazard racked up 60 receptions for 788 yards and six touchdowns, which shows the kind of impact he is capable of making.
At 27 years of age, Lazard is in the prime of his career and has shown constant improvement year after year. Going from playing with Aaron Rodgers to either Patrick Mahomes or Lamar Jackson would not make a negative impact for him either. Either team would be an ideal situation for Lazard.
All of that being said, it will be interesting to see what the market ends up becoming for Allen Lazard this offseason. The Chiefs and Ravens are certainly going to be two teams to watch closely.
