With mandatory minicamp in the rearview mirror, the next step in the Green Bay Packers offseason will be training camp before the 2024 NFL regular season begins. There are still questions to be answered about this roster before the start of the 2024 season.
There will be many positions up for grabs. The good news is that the starting quarterback spot is already sealed because Jordan Love is ready to take his game to another level this season for the Green Bay Packers. General manager Brian Gutekunst hopes to give Love his contract extension before the start of this season.

It is important that Love noted that the Packers don’t need a true number-one wide receiver. We will see how the receivers perform during training camp.
Randy Gurzi Of Dairylandexpress.com Thinks That Christian Watson Is On the Chopping Block After Mandatory Minicamp For the Green Bay Packers

Entering the start of the minicamp, Christian Watson, Romeo Doubs, and Jayden Reed were listed as the top wide receivers on the Green Bay Packers depth chart. Watson will be with the first unit again when training camp starts,
However, Randy Gurzi of dairylandexpress.com said about Christian Watson being one of six players on the Green Bay Packers roster who are on the chopping block after the 2024 minicamp:
“It was almost comical the way the Green Bay Packers attacked the NFL Draft in 2022. After years of drama with reports that Aaron Rodgers was unhappy with the front office, they sent away his favorite receiver in exchange for two draft picks. Davante Adams was traded to the Las Vegas Raiders after the two sides couldn’t agree upon an extension and the Packers landed a first and second-round pick.
Armed with two picks in Rounds 1 and 2, Green Bay seemed destined to go for a big-name receiver right away. That’s not what happened though.
Instead, they took Georgia linebacker Quay Walker at No. 22 and then his collegiate teammate, defensive tackle Devonte Wyatt at No. 28. From there, they did finally turn their attention to offense, trading both of their second-round selections to the Minnesota Vikings in exchange for the 34th pick. That’s where they landed Christian Watson from North Dakota State.”
Green Bay Packers wide receiver Christian Watson last season caught 28 passes for 422 yards receiving and five touchdowns, along with averaging 15.1 yards per reception. His 422 yards was a drop off from his 611 yards receiving during his rookie season. Watson missed several games last season due to a hamstring injury for the Green Bay Packers.

Watson had a sophomore slump and he hopes he can change it around this season, but time will tell how often he will see the field this season. Gruzi also added about Watson:
“He was slightly forgotten as Dontayvion Wicks, Jayden Reed, and Romeo Doubs all played well. Now entering his third season, Watson is firmly on the block and has had his name mentioned in one trade proposal after another.”
He has been mentioned in several trades this offseason. A few teams that he has been in mock trades with are the Dallas Cowboys, the Cincinnati Bengals, and the San Francisco 49ers. If Dontayvion Wicks bursts onto the scene during training camp, will the Green Bay Packers trade Christian Watson before the season begins? We will see how the training camp sessions unfold next month.
