The Wisconsin football staff continues to scout and recruit through the 2026 class and has recently come into contact with a three-star athlete.
Mykul Campbell, a 2026 three-star athlete from Indiana, has recently become a recruiting target for the Wisconsin football staff. Campbell is a versatile defensive back and has been considered an athlete due to his ability to play multiple defensive positions. During a recent interview with Wisconsin Sports Heroics, Campbell broke down what he feels has set himself apart on the football field.
Wisconsin Football Keeping a Close Eye on Talented Three-Star Athlete Mykul Campbell
Following an excellent season, the Wisconsin football staff has targeted a certain three-star Indiana native with extraordinary versatility. Athlete Mykul Campbell finished this past season with 77 tackles, 13 tackles for loss, four blocked punts, and one interception.
After dominating on the field, Campbell received plenty of attention from major programs such as Wisconsin, Missouri, Cincinnati, and Louisville. Campbell has also received attention from smaller programs such as Akron, Ball State, Miami of Ohio, and Central Michigan.
Mykul Campbell: “My Play Style is Fast and Physical and I Can go Sideline to Sideline”
On the field, Campbell turns from a calm, cool individual into a tackling-seeking missile that can cover every inch of the field. Standing in at 6-feet-2-inches, nearly 200-pounds, Campbell has the prototypical build for a college safety. However, Campbell is not your average safety as this past season he truly tested the limits of what a single player can do.
This past season, Campbell has film playing quarterback, safety, outside linebacker, and even wide receiver for his team. The athlete scored touchdowns on offense, recorded interceptions on defense, and also managed to block multiple punts on special teams. Campbell is by far one of the most versatile athletes in the 2026 class not just because of his positional range, but also because he excels at every position he is placed in.
When asked about what he feels sets himself apart as an athlete, Campbell stated, “My ability to play anywhere on the defense and I have a high IQ for the game.”
What the Wisconsin Badgers Football Staff, Other Programs Need to Land Campbell
For the Wisconsin football staff and other programs, Campbell is pretty specific with what he and his family are looking for in a future collegiate home. Campbell noted that his family is involved in his decision-making process, but stated he looks to them for “…guidance throughout the process.”
The athlete stated when asked about what he is looking for in a program, “Things my family and I look for in a program is how the coaching staff is and how the defense is set up as well as the education at the school.” Not only does Campbell want to become his best self on the field, but he also wants to improve himself in the classroom at a competitive school.
Campbell did not state what he is looking to major in when he reaches college, but regardless, Wisconsin currently offers the best academic programs out of his interested schools.
