Wisconsin football added its 20th commitment in the 2024 recruiting class today. Dilin Jones, an impressive tailback out of Maryland, picked UW over 30 other suitors. A top-15 running back in the country, the consensus four-star prospect is the highest-rated recruit in the Badgers’ class.

Adding such a highly touted prospect was met with much excitement. Several Wisconsin football coaches and committed recruits in the 2024 class took to Twitter to react to their future teammate’s announcement. UW’s running backs coach, in particular, sent a bold message.

Mabrey Mettauer is a four-star prospect in the 2024 class, according to the 247Sports Composite rankings. The 27th-ranked quarterback in his class shared his excitement about the newest back he will be handing the ball off to:

The QB out of The Woodlands, Texas is already a vocal leader in his recruiting class. He committed to Wisconsin football on December 24th, 2022.

Omillio Agard committed to Wisconsin football earlier this month. In his incredibly entertaining and memorable commitment video, he picked UW over Clemson.

Badgers running backs coach Devon Spalding did not bother parsing words when reacting to his latest four-star rusher. Referring to the fact that the 2024 class has three running backs with Jones, four-star Darrion Dupree, and three-star Gideon Ituka, Spalding shared a photo of Wisconsin football legends Corey Clement, Melvin Gordon III, and James White.
