Christian Alliegro played one game fewer in 2024 than in 2023 for the Luke Fickell and the Wisconsin Badgers football but the numbers he recorded last year are way better.

The linebacker started in just three games but is second in in terms of tackles with 66, 44 of them solo.
For Fickell, it is a testament to the potential Alliegro carries and he believes he is fated to do more for the team now that he is in his third year and already stacked a handful of experience.
“The difficult thing for guys that haven’t played a ton of ball is to show the confidence that you have and be able to lead,” Fickell said as quoted by Badger Notes.
“That’s what we’ve challenged him with this spring. We’ve seen growth, and he’s going to have to continue to grow even more. Because there’s a really high expectation for all the things that he can do for us.”

Alliegro came to the team in 2022 as a renowned lacrosse player where he was recognized as a member of the All-America team. He was ranked was No. 1,264 overall prospect by 247 Sports and the No. 104 linebacker in the 2023 class.
Luke Fickell has one challenge for third-year LB
Alliegro has made himself a prominent part of Fickell’s squad last season and now, it is time for him to level up.
The coach is now looking at him as a more vocal leader given the importance of his role in the middle.
“Well, it’s being [more] vocal,” Fickell said a few months ago.

“I think the most important aspect of a guy, interior linebacker, Mike or Will — those guys inside the middle have got to be able to run everything. His ability to take the next step and run the show out there is really important. The guy in the middle has to be vocal, impose some leadership, and take those rein ’cause that’s not easy.”
The 2025 college football season will open on the third week of August.
