The Wisconsin Badgers football staff recently made an excellent offer to the top recruit from the great state of Idaho. Mike Brown, the Badgers wide receivers coach, spoke with the 2024 recruit after the conclusion of his season to offer a scholarship. The four-star receiver could be quite the addition to the Badgers 2024 recruiting class if he chooses Madison.

Gatlin Bair is a 2024 receiver from Idaho, coming in at six foot two inches and about 190 pounds. According to 247 Sports, Bair currently ranks as the 178th recruit nationally, the 34th overall receiver, and the number one recruit from his home. The multi-sport athlete is also excellent at track and field where he participates in the 100-meter, 200-meter, long jump, and triple jump as well.
Perhaps the biggest upside that scouts have seen in the 2024 recruit is his tremendous athleticism. Bair recorded a time of 10.53 seconds in the 100-meter this summer during the USA Region 11 Junior Olympic Championships. Along with his blazing speed, he has an eye for holes in the defense and quickly gets into open space. His speed has led him to get more chances at returning the football.
Gabe Brooks, a national scouting analyst for 247 Sports, projects that Gatlin Bair will likely become a Power-5 starter in his future. Brooks also notes that Bair is a talented receiver, but possibly could be viewed as an athlete by schools. Due to his vision, speed, and hands, Bair could become a talented corner right away. With a bit more size, the potential to move Bair to safety and have him roam the middle of the field is possible as well. However, given his ability to play receiver, it is unlikely he will switch positions any time soon.
The Perfect Wisconsin Badgers Football Fit?
Under the new coaching regime led by Luke Fickell, the style and attitude of the team has changed. In Cincinnati, Fickell commanded a fast, strong, and versatile team that could offer multiple looks against their opponent. One of the key words in the development of Cincinnati is “Versatile”. Coach Fickell is building Wisconsin Badgers football into a do-it-all team, which starts with the players.
Gaitlin Bair is a do-it-all kind of player at wide receiver, and potentially at other positions as well if teams are interested in doing so. Bair could provide incredible speed and awareness to an already deep position for the Wisconsin Badgers football program. However, given his recent success he could certainly make a case to start.
In his junior season, Bair caught 73 passes for 1073 receiving yards and 18 touchdowns. Bair also added two all-purpose touchdowns and an average of 119.2 receiving yards per game to his magnificent season. Since his success, the potential 2024 Wisconsin Badgers football recruit has received quite a few offers.
The 2024 recruit has 22 Division 1 offers, including Michigan and Nebraska who have led the battle for the recruit. Michigan started recruiting Bair first, and offered him a scholarship back in June of 2022. Nebraska followed and offered Bair in December, and since neither school has let their foot off the gas. The Wisconsin Badgers football staff will have to work overtime to land Gatlin Bair with the way the situation currently looks.
