The Packers have had questions on offense this season. The team has lost four consecutive games for the first time since 2016. Recent struggles in the passing game have been a disappointment almost 9 weeks into the season.
Current Buffalo Bills linebacker Von Miller discussed on his most recent podcast with Richard Sherman what he asked Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers on why they will not pass the ball. Miller refused to state what Rodgers said during the previous game against the Bills.

Packers Passing Game is Lacking
During the 2022 season, the Packers have dropped over 15 passes through eight weeks. Some have been under or overthrown. Quite a few passes have been on target to his wide receivers but were dropped. Like Richard Sherman stated, it could be a case that Rodgers “has no one to throw to, and he just does not trust none of them.” With Davante Adams now in Las Vegas, Rodgers does not have a reliable target to catch passes down the field.
Packers passing the ball has been a staple in football for years. The receiving core has been dealing with injuries to the veteran guys. Wide receiver Randall Cobb is still out with an ankle sprain, along with Christian Watson and Sammy Watkins struggling with injuries. Allen Lazard returned to practice on Wednesday afternoon.
This means the young guys must take the next step in their absence. Rookie wideouts Romeo Doubs and Samori Toure showed some catching ability in their last game against Buffalo. But the Packers are in need of another wide receiver, which they have not made a move toward yet.
Packers Need To Make A Move At Wide Receiver
Tuesday was the trade deadline. The time to get a wide receiver did not happen for the Packers. There was a chance to pick up former Steelers wide receiver Chase Claypool, but the rival Chicago Bears claimed that spot. Green Bay has to get the passing game together if they want to be a contender. There are still games to be played, but all of the wideouts need to catch passes to keep pressure off the running backs and put touchdowns on the scoreboard.
Sure, the offense has not had a balanced attack, even with running the ball. Packers QB Aaron Rodgers expects more from his teammates and is not getting great results with winning games. It is certainly long overdue. Richard Sherman stating, “They couldn’t catch a cold in a snow storm in Alaska,” is true for the most part eight games into this 2022 Packers season with all of the drops so far.
Hopefully, the wide receivers will start making the proper catches and plays as the season continues. The Packers will face their NFC North rival Detroit Lions on Sunday, November 6th, 2022, at Ford Field on Fox!
