The Milwaukee Bucks are 2-6 to start the 2024-2025 NBA regular season. With the Bucks being this bad, it is quite possible that they could be massive sellers at the NBA Trade Deadline this season. It will be interesting to see if the Bucks could get themselves out of the basement beforehand.
During the offseason, many Milwaukee Bucks players were rumored to be traded to different teams, but it never happened. If a trade were to happen, would a lot of fans really have the trust in general manager Jon Horst to make the right move? It remains to be seen.
NBA Insider Brian Windhorst Reports On Friday That the Milwaukee Bucks Are Looking To Make a Trade
With the Milwaukee Bucks sitting at 2-6 this season, they may not wait to make a trade. According to ESPN’s NBA Insider Brian Windhorst, he reports that they are eyeing a trade. Windhorst said:
“The speculation is true. The Bucks are indeed starting to canvas the league for a trade, league executives told ESPN. But no, not that trade. The concept of two-time MVP Giannis Antetokounmporeaching the trade market is ripe for rumors and trade machine computations, but it’s not a reality as of now for Antetokounmpo or the Bucks, sources said. Teams have let the Bucks know in recent months they would make an offer for the Greek Freak if that day ever comes. But those are incoming calls, not outgoing and it’s likely to remain that way.”
There were a lot of people who were creating mock trades for Milwaukee Bucks superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo. The Bucks have no plans to trade him for now and they probably have no plans to trade Damian Lillard either.
Potential Trade Candidates
There are at least three to four players on the Milwaukee Bucks roster who could be dealt before the end of the 2024-2025 NBA season. They are Pat Connaughton, Bobby Portis Jr., Brook Lopez, and possibly Khris Middleton. Middleton has yet to play this season due to an ankle injury, but his contract is eating up a lot of cap space on this basketball team.
Lopez is on an expiring contract. The Bucks might get a good return for Portis Jr. because some NBA teams need some bench help. As for Connaughton, he would just be a throw-in to a potential trade. It is good that the Milwaukee Bucks are trying to make a move and it is also good that they won’t trade Giannis Antetokounmpo for now.
