The Milwaukee Brewers pitching rotation depth has been tested the past two months.
The team has been ravaged by injuries namely to guys like Brandon Woodruff, Eric Lauer, Wade Miley, so the question looms is it too early to call up LHP Robert Gasser?
Gasser was apart of the Josh Hader deal on August 1, 2022, and is currently pitching in Triple-A Nashville.
Gasser in nine starts is 3-1 with a 4.59 ERA, 60 strikeouts and 49 innings pitched, and being only 24 years old, Gasser could be a building block for the future of the Brewers, and will likely be apart of the starting rotation as soon as next year; so why not give him a couple of starts to see if he’s going to be ready this year or is next year the best bet before we see Gasser?
Milwaukee should exhaust every option to get more consistency from the back half of their rotation if it means calling up Gasser for a turn in the starting rotation, they should do that to see what arms in the system are ready to pitch for the Brewers at the major league level.
