The Milwaukee Brewers ended the month of August with a 12-15 record. For a team looking to take the NL Central, that is not the best look. Currently, they sit 7.5 games behind the St. Louis Cardinals. With a 71-63 record and 28 games remaining until the playoffs, what can The Crew do to take the division or sneak into a wildcard spot? Currently, the Brewers are two games back from a Wild Card spot under Philadelphia and San Diego.

The Current Look
A realistic floor for this team to stay the way they are and still make the playoffs is a .500 record rest of the season. But what if they get hot? A pipedream would be a .700 finish. The last time they hit that threshold was June of 2021 last season. Allow me to break this all down for you:
Colorado Rockies
Two games on the road. The Brewers should sweep this series. Coors Field is a hitters ballpark. Expect a few long balls, especially from Hunter Renfroe.
San Francisco Giants
Two home games. This has a good possibility to happen.
Cincinnati Reds
Seven games total (3 home/4 away. They must win at least five of them. The Brewers always beat down on the Reds led by none other than Christian Yelich himself.
St. Louis
Four games total (two home and two away). At worst, they need to split. Anytime you play your top-division competitor, you simply cannot settle for anything less than a series split.
New York Yankees
Three games at home. They have to win at least two. A fairly large ask to ask for a series win for a team with Aaron Judge. Outside of him, they have been 11-20 since the start of August.
New York Mets
Three games at home. The Brewers need to win at least one. The Mets are arguably the best team in baseball. It’s not an easy matchup, but no reason they can’t pull one out.
Miami Marlins
Three games at home. Again, they will need to win at least two. The Marlins are one of the coldest teams in baseball. If the Brewers face potential CY Young winner Sandy Alcantara, there are still two games that have to be taken.
Arizona Diamondbacks
Another three game home series where you have to win at least two. Arizona is having a better than expected season.
In this projection, the Brewers finish with 18 wins. Crazy? Maybe. However, with the number of home games the Brewers have left, there is no reason why they can’t pull out a postseason berth. As fans, we all hope for a repeat as division champs over the Cardinals. We’ve seen the highs and lows of this team.
