Before the Milwaukee Bucks landed Damian Lillard in a trade last year, they had their sights set on Bradley Beal from the Washington Wizards. The Bucks did not land Beal because he was traded to the Phoenix Suns.
One of the things about Bradley Beal is that he missed some time last year with an injury for Phoenix. He has formed the big three in the desert with Kevin Durant and Devin Booker.
Bradley Beal Reveals Story About Almost Being Traded To the Milwaukee Bucks For Khris Middleton
When Beal was mentioned in trade rumors before being shopped last offseason, there were many different teams he could have been traded to. One of the teams that he almost was traded to last offseason was the Milwaukee Bucks. Recently, Beal appeared on a podcast called Run Your Race @Tidalleague and said:
“They were trading [Middleton], but “Middy” had a player option. So, he has to opt in to get traded. I don’t know many people going to opt in to willingly get traded to D.C.”
This is a very interesting development from Beal. Some believed that they were never going to trade Middleton as long as Giannis Antetokounmpo was still on the team, but they were looking for a massive shakeup.
Jrue Holiday Was Traded Instead Of Khris Middleton
Instead of Khris Middleton being traded for Bradley Beal last offseason, Jrue Holiday was traded instead in a three-team trade, and not many people were happy about that move. Many felt that trading Holiday away from Damian Lillard was risky.
Holiday was traded to the Portland Trail Blazers, but he was shopped to the Boston Celtics before the 2023-2024 season. Jrue Holiday helped the Boston Celtics win an NBA title for the first time since 2007-2008. The dynamics may have been better for the Bucks if they had a big three of Jrue Holiday, Bradley Beal, and Giannis Antetokounmpo instead of Khris Middleton, Giannis Antetokounmpo, and Damian Lillard also.
