Both the Kansas City Chiefs and Philadelphia Eagles have been powered to this year’s Super Bowl by elite offensive lines, something that the Green Bay Packers must hurry up and build in order to protect Jordan Love.
Few things matter more to Love’s continued development, and the Packers ascending into the echelon of legitimate Super Bowl contenders for years to come, than replicating the success the Eagles and Chiefs have found along the line of scrimmage.
This year’s NFL Draft could offer multiple opportunities to fortify the line.
Is Oregon OT Josh Conerly Jr. the Packers’ Ideal Fit?

ESPN’s Matt Miller released his latest three-round 2025 NFL Mock Draft, including the Packers selecting Oregon offensive tackle Josh Conerly in the first round.
“Left tackle Rasheed Walker has exceeded expectations,” Miller writes for ESPN. “Considering he was a seventh-round choice in 2022, but he’s also set to be a free agent after next season. The Packers love to invest first-round picks in the trenches, and they can pluck one of my favorite tackles off the board to be their future on the blind side.
“Conerly was a high school running back until outgrowing the position. Despite still adding play power to his frame in 2024, he had his best season yet, allowing only one sack and seven pressures in the Big Ten. Getting Conerly at No. 23 would be great value for Green Bay, and the need matches up, too.”
At 6-foot-4 and 314 pounds, Conerly is a behemoth with the skill set to anchor the Packers’ offensive line as a centerpiece of Green Bay’s rebuild.
As Pro Football Focus points out, Conerly allowed just two sacks across three years as a starter in Eugene, while posting a strong 78.1 overall grade.
Building out the offensive line should be a foundational priority for general manager Brian Gutekunst and the Packers, especially if Green Bay hopes to close the gap on Philadelphia, and Detroit at the top of the NFC and set Love up for sustained success. Conerly could be a big piece of that puzzle.
