NFL News: The Green Bay Packers are headed into a new era in 2023. After 31 years someone not named Brett Favre or Aaron Rodgers will be under center for week one of the NFL season. Love is entering his fourth year in the league after sitting behind legendary Aaron Rodgers for the first three years of his career. The progress he has made in the league so far has been noticeable to both players and coaches. One thing that could help that progress come week one? A star veteran wide receiver.
Green Bay Packers Land WR Stefon Diggs By Trade LT Yosh Nijman And Draft Picks

According to NFL insider Benjamin Allbright via the podcast Broncos Country Tonight, the Bills are open to trading Diggs if he continues to be a distraction in the building. While Diggs is an elite wide receiver who the Bills prefer to keep, the team understands that his temperament can be “mercurial” and could pose problems for a team with little room for error this season as their Super Bowl window closes:
“I talked to some people in Buffalo on the condition of anonymity and they said that, ‘Publicly, we’re not moving him. Privately, we would consider it under the right circumstances,’” Allbright said.
Could the right circumstance mean a solid left tackle and a premium draft pick? If the Bills’ roster has one Achilles heel, it would be the poor play of their offensive line over the years. Buffalo’s offensive line allowed 180 pressures and 18 sacks on the season. The team tried to address their offensive line woes before the 2022 season by acquiring Rodger Saffold, but he provided just a 44.0 PFF grade at left guard. The Bills went to the free agency well once again this offseason to try and solve their offensive line woes, this time targeting Connor McGovern to hopefully solidify the left side of their line.
The Green Bay Packers Could Offer Yosh Nijman And A Premium Draft Pick For WR Stefon Diggs

Yosh Nijman has been an excellent backup for the Packers, as he’s started in 21 games as the team has had to weather injuries to Bakhtiari and Elgton Jenkins. While it would be nice to keep him in case something happens to the line this season, the Packers might be better served to get a long-term starter or two in next year’s draft. The Packers signed Nijman as an undrafted free agent in 2019. Trading him for star player would be a huge win for the front office. A proposed trade could look like this:
Buffalo Bills Receive:
- T Yosh Nijman
- 2024 Second Round Draft Pick
- 2024 Third Round Draft Pick
- 2024 Sixth Round Draft Pick
Green Bay Packers Receive:
- WR Stefon Diggs
Stefon Diggs, 29-years-old, would immediately make the Green Bay Packers offense significantly better. The contract would need to be worked out by the Packers’ front office, however, for a player like Diggs it would be worth it.
