It may seem reactionary (at the time of this writing, it is still the first quarter), but the Green Bay Packers may have a changing of the guard at center this season. All offseason, the Packers have been giving Zach Tom and other offensive linemen turns at playing center with the starting offense. 2021 second round pick Josh Myers has not progressed as the team hoped he would entering his third season.

The Packers’ first offensive series to start the game was yet another example as to why the team is looking at other players at center. Myers snapped the ball before quarterback Jordan Love gave the signal. The ball sailed over Love’s head and the Patriots recovered it on the Packers’ 18-yard line.
Green Bay Packers Center Josh Myers Caused Fans to Call for His Job
After the play, Packers fans took to social media to express their displeasure with Myers’ play:
Every time I watch Josh Myers play football, I’m in depression that we took this man instead of Creed Humphrey

Josh Myers looking like me back in the day! #Whoopsy

Can we end the Josh Myers experiment already?
— Ryan P (@CoachRhyno) August 20, 2023
Josh Myers is not him.

As mentioned, several other players have been taking snaps at center during training camp. If Myers continues to maintain his current level of play, he will lose his starting job by Week One.
