Green Bay Packers quarterback Jordan Love surprised many people last season. He was one of the reasons why Green Bay finished with a 9-8 record and got to the NFC Divisional Round before losing to the San Francisco 49ers, 24-21.
Love this past season finished with 4,159 yards passing, 32 touchdowns, and 11 interceptions. He also rushed for 247 yards on 50 carries and four touchdowns, along with 4.9 yards per carry.
During the playoffs, he threw for 466 yards passing, completed 67.3% of his passes, and threw for five touchdowns and two interceptions. Love appears to be the long-term answer for the Green Bay Packers franchise. Brett Favre and Aaron Rodgers Have Won an MVP Before with the franchise. Can Jordan Love possibly do the same?
ESPN’s Damien Woody Thinks Green Bay Packers Quarterback Jordan Love Can Win the MVP As Early As Next Season
It is never too early to talk about who is going to win the NFL MVP for the 2024 season. Quarterback Lamar Jackson of the Baltimore Ravens is projected to win his second NFL MVP Award this season. However, Damien Woody said this about Love possibly being the MVP in 2024 by saying:
“If there’s a guy that I’m putting money on for early MVP next year, he’s the guy.”
This seems to be a bold take, but in reality, it isn’t. Love was one of the passing touchdown leaders this past season and he is just getting his feet wet as a starting quarterback in the NFL. He will have a plethora of weapons to work with.
Christian Watson, Romeo Doubs, Jayden Reed, and Dontayvion Wicks will be his receivers to work with. Luke Musgrave and Tucker Kraft are also reliable tight ends for Love in the passing game. Love will not be high in the betting rankings for MVP next season with the likes of Patrick Mahomes, Josh Allen, and Joe Burrow, but Love can not be ignored in this instance.
Woody is not wrong about making this prediction. There was a lot of uncertainty last offseason when the moved off of Aaron Rodgers for Love. That is not the case this time around.
