The Milwaukee Bucks trio of Giannis Antetokounmpo, Damian Lillard, and Khris MIddleton is rumored to be splitting. Some sources reported that the Bucks have expressed interest in acquiring one star player from the Brooklyn Nets, but they will need to let go of one of their own to make it happen.
Sources say that the Bucks are looking to acquire Nets’ rising star guard/forward Cam Thomas to help bolster their roster. However, they might need to give Middleton up to get the deal. The team has neither decided if they are willing to let go of their veteran guard nor have they made any offer.

Some say it would not be a surprise if the Bucks decided to trade Khris Middleton away. The forward’s stats have declined in recent seasons and he has yet to return from injury. On the other hand, Thomas is seemingly improving every season, and he could be the final piece of the puzzle that can help Antetokounmpo and Lillard contend for the championship.
Khris Middleton vs. Cam Thomas: a comparison
The Milwaukee Bucks struggled to find their groove at the start of their season and were at one point the second-worst team in the Eastern Conference. Somehow they have been able to get out of their drought with a four-game winning streak and move to sixth place with an 8-9 record.
While the Bucks seem to be finding their rhythm now, they are still far from being in top form, and acquiring another key player to enhance their roster is not an unwelcome idea.
Khris Middleton is yet to play this season as he is still out due to an injury, so he can’t be qualitatively compared with Cam Thomas just yet. But if their stats from last season are to be looked at side by side, the Nets star seems to be the better man when it comes to scoring, at least.
Cam Thomas averaged a career-high 22.5 points, 3.2 rebounds, and 2.9 assists last season, compared to Middleton’s 15.1 points, 4.7 rebounds, and 5.3 assists. The veteran Bucks forward had his career-high average of 20.9 points during the 2019-20 season. He may not be as productive as he used to, but he is still a dependable all-rounder.
It will all come down to what the Bucks ultimately need to get back in contendership form. Nothing is set in stone just yet, and It is still up in the air if the franchise is fine with letting Khris Middleton go.
