Nathaniel Hackett had a message for Zach Wilson after Aaron Rodgers went down with an injury on Monday night at home for the New York Jets against the Buffalo Bills just four snaps in. New York won the game over Buffalo 22-16 in overtime. Hackett is the offensive coordinator of the Jets.
He said to Wilson on the sidelines when the show Inside the NFL was aired this past Tuesday at 8 pm ET/7 pm CT on the CW:
“Don’t ever get to high, don’t ever get too low. Alright, breathe, relax, and play your game.”

The show is aired throughout the NFL season every Tuesday. This game hit differently for a lot of reasons for many people. It was a shame that Rodgers had to go down on the fourth play of the drive for the Jets offense after getting sacked after the snap.
Wilson has learned a lot from Rodgers in a short amount of time. Wilson, on Monday night against the Bills, completed 14-of-21 passes for 140 yards, one touchdown, and one interception. His lone touchdown pass came in the fourth quarter on a 3-yard touchdown, and it was a spectacular catch.
Nathaniel Hackett made Wilson’s life easy at the beginning when he had to come in before he opened up the playbook more.
Nathaniel Hackett Will Need to Open Up the PlayBook More For Zach Wilson, Like Aaron Rodgers
With Rodgers sidelined for the entire 2023 season because of the torn Achilles, it is time for Wilson to live up to the second overall selection in the 2021 NFL Draft out of BYU. Hackett needs to open up the playbook more for him and find his top target, Garrett Wilson.
They will be a run-first offense with Dalvin Cook and Breece Hall and also rely on their defense. However, they can’t baby Wilson, and they need to let him play and take some risks. Hackett needs to make life easy for Wilson in order to succeed. Wilson struggled a season ago, and it is time for him to let it go and be confident in himself.
