MLB News: The Chicago Cubs have been on a tear since the All-Star break. On July 14 teams resumed games post All-Star break in which at that time they had a 42-47 record. At that time selling at the trade deadline was looking like a real possibility, but then they caught fire, were buyers at the deadline, and since have increased their playoff odds the most when compared to all other teams.

Using playoff odds from Fangraphs, the Cubs had a 9.5% of making the post season at the time of the All-Star break. As of August 12 their odds have increased by 45.3%, which brings their current chances up to 54.8%. This is the biggest increase in playoff odds among all other teams.
In the NL Central the Milwaukee Brewers currently have the highest overall playoff odds at 81%. The slumping Cincinnati Reds odds have decreased to just 24%. As to who has the best shot at winning the division it goes to Milwaukee first at 61.8%, Chicago second at 31.2%, and Cincinnati third at 7.0%.
Other big risers since the All-Star break include the Philadelphia Phillies who have increased their odds by 36.6%. The third and fourth biggest risers include the Minnesota Twins (+28.6%) and the Houston Astros (22.2%).
