The Milwaukee Bucks will have two selections in the 2024 NBA Draft and the UCLA Bruins have a couple of NBA Draft prospects. Milwaukee will hope to keep its 23rd selection and its 33rd selection in the 2024 NBA Draft. The Bucks need to find youth for its future because they don’t have much to rely upon at the moment.
They have a lot of older players on the roster and the Milwaukee Bucks need to get younger and general manager Jon Horst understands that. Milwaukee will not have a quiet offseason in 2024 by any means. The number one goal of the 2024 offseason is to build around Giannis Antetokounmpo and Damian Lillard for years to come.
The Milwaukee Bucks are Eyeing UCLA Bruins Forward Adem Bona For the 2024 NBA Draft
Bona completed his sophomore season with the Bruins. He is 6’10” and weighs 245 lbs. Adem Bona played in 33 games this past season for UCLA. He averaged 12.4 PPG, 5.9 RPG, 1.2 APG, 1.8 BPG, and 1.1 SPG. Bona shot 58.8% from the field and did not attempt a single three-point shot. He shot 69.6% from the free-throw line during his sophomore season.
Franco Luna of behindthebuckpass.com thinks that the Milwaukee Bucks should target the UCLA forward during the 2024 NBA Draft. He wrote:
“At 6-foot-10 with a powerful build and a 7-foot-3 wingspan, Adem Bona possesses the All-World motor and tools to be a rim-protecting nightmare. Simultaneously a well-built physical specimen and a gracefully fluid athlete, he has a knack for contesting shots, altering passing angles, and deterring drives at the rim. It’s not difficult to imagine how this presence in the paint complements Giannis’ defensive dominance, creating a suffocating interior defense for the Milwaukee Bucks.
While Bona excels as a rim protector, his mobility is underrated. He can switch onto smaller forwards on the perimeter, a crucial skill set in today’s NBA. This allows the Bucks to switch freely on screens without defensive mismatches.
Bona plays with a relentless motor. He hustles on every possession, battling for rebounds and contesting every shot. This relentless energy fits perfectly with the Bucks’ defensive culture, further solidifying their identity as a defensive juggernaut.
Bona isn’t a polished scorer yet, but his offensive repertoire shows promise. He has a developing mid-range shot and can finish strong at the rim. The Bucks could develop his offensive skills, turning him into a more well-rounded threat.”
Adem Bona is a very raw prospect and will have a lot of defensive potential at the NBA level. However, the Milwaukee Bucks need a player at the forward position who can also score the basketball and not potentially be an offensive liability.
