In order for the Milwaukee Bucks to make significant upgrades to their roster ahead of the new season, it’s a given that they will need to part ways with some valuable assets to do so. This could come in the form of sharpshooting guard Pat Connaughton, who is now entering the final guaranteed year of his current contract.
According to Bleacher Report’s most recent trade proposal, bidding farewell to Connaughton could potentially land the Bucks a player like the Chicago Bulls’ Ayo Dosunmu.
Ayo Dosonmu to the Milwaukee Bucks?
Dan Favale of B/R believes that Dosunmu would be a great pick-up for Milwaukee. The Bucks, however, will need to give up a significant haul in exchange for the 6-foot-5 shooting guard. Below are the details of the trade proposal:
Bucks get: Ayo Dosunmu
Bulls get: Pat Connaughton, No. 23 pick
Connaughton is a bit of a fan-favorite and parting ways with him won’t be easy. However, the Bucks will also need to let go of their only first-round pick in the upcoming 2024 NBA Draft in order to get their hands on Dosunmu.
According to Favale, the 24-year-old is worth his weight in gold, especially with what he will potentially bring to the table for the Bucks on the defensive end:
“Milwaukee’s rotation needs a jolt of versatility and verve on the perimeter. Dosunmu brings it in spades. At 6’5″ in shoes, with a wingspan north of 6’10”, he can defend both guard spots and scale up to certain wings. Tackling star covers isn’t out of the question, either,” Favale wrote.
Bucks Fans React
While some Bucks are quick to turn down the prospect of trading away Connaughton, more than a few others believe that this is a deal worth making:

Dosunmu is no star, but he could potentially be an integral part of Milwaukee’s rotation in 2024-25, especially with a couple of players seemingly on their way out via NBA free agency.
