The Milwaukee Bucks will have to decide whether to keep Patrick Beverley or not. He is one of five free agents for Milwaukee this summer. Beverley was acquired in a trade near the NBA Trade Deadline.
Patrick Beverley started in some games for the Milwaukee Bucks. However, he has been suspended for four games at the start of next season for throwing a basketball into the stands during their Game 6 loss against the Indiana Pacers.

Beverley is 35 years old and is known more for his defensive game than his offensive game. They will look to upgrade the backup point guard position behind Damian Lillard this summer.
Former First-Round NBA Draft Pick Kris Dunn Named As a Potential Patrick Beverley Replacement For the Milwaukee Bucks

Dunn was the fifth-overall pick in the 2016 NBA Draft out of Providence. He is 30 years old and has been with different teams throughout his NBA career, Kris Dunn has spent the last two seasons with the Utah Jazz.
Dalton Sell of behindthebuckpass.com thinks that Dunn could be a potential replacement for Beverley next season. Sell wrote:
“Another name the Bucks did homework on before acquiring Patrick Beverley was Utah Jazz guard Kris Dunn, once again according to Jake Fischer. With Dunn set to enter the free-agent pool and the Bucks possibly needing point guard help, it wouldn’t be surprising if his name resurfaced once more.
After struggling to stick on the court over the prior few seasons, Dunn had a resurgence with Utah in 2023-24, showing he could help a team by serving as a jack of all trades. He scored, facilitated, shot the long ball well and, perhaps most importantly for Milwaukee’s sake, provided relentless defense on the perimeter. There’s plenty to like.
The guard could be a nice sparkplug off of the bench, primarily by playing hounding defense on the perimeter against opposing guards. This past season, Dunn held opposing guards to 123-of-294 field goal shooting (41.8 percent) while forcing 52 turnovers, both solid numbers for a 6-foot-3 guard, making a legitimate case to earn an All-Defensive nod.
Dunn could reasonably fall into Milwaukee’s price range this off-season, as the guard may be looking for an opportunity with a contender to showcase himself. Having just turned 30, he’s still fairly young and has plenty of gas left in the tank, especially if he can build off a solid 2023-24 showing with Utah. He could be another Malik Beasley-esque addition on a cheap deal, perhaps.
If he’s available, this would be about as low risk as it gets, given the team’s defensive needs.”
Kris Dunn played in 66 games last season for the Utah Jazz and he started in 32 games for them. Dunn averaged 5.4 PPG, 2.9 RPG, 3.8 APG, 0.4 BPG, and 1.0 SPG. He also shot 47.0% from the field and 36.9% from three-point land. Kris Dunn also shot 68.6% from the free-throw line.

Dunn would be a much better option for the Bucks than Beverley would be at this point. Milwaukee is trying to win now and Kris Dunn also has more offensive talent than Patrick Beverley does.
