Throughout his eight-year NBA career, Milwaukee Bucks swingman Pat Connaughton has only played for two teams. The Portland Trail Blazers drafted him in the second round in 2015, and this was where he spent the first three years of his career.
The 6-foot-5 guard/forward then joined the Bucks in 2018 when he signed as a free agent. Connaughton, who was part of Milwaukee’s title run in 2021, has since been plying his trade as an integral part of Milwaukee’s rotation.
Milwaukee Bucks’ Pat Connaughton Looking Forward to Celtics Showdown

Despite the fact that Connaughton hasn’t played for the Boston Celtics, Wednesday’s showdown in the TD Garden is still something he’s quite excited about. He may not have any history with the Celtics, but his ties with Massachusets run deep.
Connaughton was born and raised in Arlington, Massachusets, a town that is just six miles northwest of Boston. He went to high school at St. John’s Prep in Danvers, MA. This is exactly why the 30-year-old always has Celtics games circled on his calendar:
“When we’re out there I’m sure I’ll be different, it’ll be a little bit weird, we’re all competitive guys so we’ll all want to try to win obviously and it will be your typical Boston-Bucks over the last five years type of game,” he said (h/t Jim Owczarski of the Milwaukee Jornal Sentinel). “Those are my favorite games obviously.
“I got a sentimental reason to compete with those guys. Now you add [Jrue Holiday] to the mix and it’ll be different, but it’ll be fun. And it’ll be something that we wish him the best every time he doesn’t play us.”

An added layer for Connaughton is the fact that former teammate Jrue Holiday will get to face off against the Bucks for the first time since his summer trade.
Connaughton formed quite a friendship with Holiday during their time together in Milwaukee, and much like the rest of the squad, the former is very much looking forward to battling his buddy on the court come Wednesday.
