The Milwaukee Bucks haven’t been the same since winning the championship back in 2021 due to early playoff exits in the past three years. But for Giannis Antetokounmpo, though, it’s only a matter of time before the franchise goes back to where it belongs.
Antetokounmpo first entered the NBA as the Bucks’15th overall pick in the 2013 Draft, a class that also boasted Rudy Gobert, Victor Oladipo, and Steven Adams. As the team’s top rookie that season, the raw prospect saw limited action on the court.
That all changed when Antetokounmpo slowly got better over the years. In 2017, the Greek Freak won that season’s Most Improved Player of the year after averaging 22.9 points, 8.8. rebounds, 5.4 assists, and 1.9 blocks per game. He would later win a pair of MVPs in 2019 and 2020, validating his journey to become one of the league’s best players.
That same journey reached its peak when Antetokounmpo led the Bucks to a championship in 2021 over the Chris Paul-led Phoenix Suns. Since then, though, Milwaukee exited the playoffs early due to a combination of injuries and an ineffective roster construction. Nevertheless, it can’t be denied that the two-time MVP has always been the focal point of the franchise during all that time.
Giannis Antetokounmpo Delivers One Big Promise to Milwaukee Bucks Fans in Thank You Message
Although the Bucks exited the playoffs early in the first round, Antetokounmpo still stood by the franchise and its fans. This can be seen in an Instagram post he recently posted online:

Before the playoffs started, Antetokounmpo injured his calf, leading him to miss the entirety of their first round showdown against Indiana. All-Star guard Damian Lillard was also out for half the series, causing the Bucks to rely more on Khris Middleton and other role players. As a result, the team found itself watching the postseason from home instead of actively contending for another championship.
Based on his post, it looks like Antetokounmpo is going to stay in Milwaukee for next season. Even with all the rumors of the forward getting traded, it seems he’s looking forward to another season playing in Milwaukee. If all goes well in the offseason, fans may see this team dominate next year and contend again for another championship.
