Milwaukee Bucks veteran Patrick Beverley has shared his unfiltered thoughts on now-former Toronto Raptors forward Jontay Porter getting himself permanently banned from the NBA over gambling allegations. As it turns out, the league produced enough evidence to make their decision to prevent the disgraced 24-year-old from ever playing in the NBA again.
According to Pat Bev, it’s a punishment fitting of the crime.
Milwaukee Bucks News: Patrick Beverley Reacts to Jontay Porter Lifetime Ban
For those that require context, Porter was recently exiled from the league over betting irregularities involving his own player props. It appears that the 6-foot-11 power forward, who also happens to be the brother of Denver Nuggets star Michael Porter Jr., manipulated his numbers in order to make money out of it.
Beverley and podcast co-host Rone did not hold back in criticizing Porter’s decision to involve himself in such a disgraceful act:

As Beverley and Rone said, Porter would have probably been better off robbing a bank than what he did here.
Beverley also made a good point about the NBA wanting to make an example out of Porter. As the veteran point guard said, the players were very interested in what type of punishment the league would lay down for this type of crime. The fact that Commissioner Adam Silver went with the harshest sanction in the book speaks volumes of how the league intends to handle such matters in the future.
