After so much anticipation, Khris Middleton finally made his preseason debut for the Milwaukee Bucks on Friday as they took down the Memphis Grizzlies, 124-116. The three-time All-Star got the nod to start, but it was far from a mind-blowing performance for Middleton and his surgically repaired knee.
Be that as it may, it was still great to see him finally out there.
Milwaukee Bucks Star Khris Middleton Makes Cameo Vs. Memphis Grizzlies

Despite the start, Middleton played just 12 minutes in his first appearance for the Bucks this season. He finished with five points on 2-of-6 shooting to go along with one rebound, five assists, and one triple. It was anything but a vintage Khris Middleton performance, but at least the 32-year-old was able to get one game in before the new season starts.
Admittedly, Middleton looked rusty at times. This is totally understandable considering how the former Texas A&M standout has been recovering from a lingering knee injury over the past few months. He should only get better from here on out.
At least we got our first glimpse at the Bucks’ new Big 3.
Khris Middleton Rues Lack of Minutes

Middleton spoke to reporters after the game and he said that he was pleased to finally be out there. However, the 6-foot-7 swingman could not help but share his honest thoughts on his limited playing time against the Grizzlies:
“It was good,” Middleton said, via Eric Nehm of The Athletic. “It was a good first run. Felt fine, felt great. Wish I got more minutes, but I’ll get there.”

Middleton revealed that he did have a 12-minute cap coming in. This was the plan from the get-go, and the coaching staff did not deviate from the same.
In spite of the limited time he spent on the floor, Middleton still believes that it was an important step for him as he looks to be back to full health this coming season:
“I felt great during those stretches,” Middleton said. “Felt like I was myself out there. Now I just gotta get used to different spots on the floor, the rhythm of the offense (and) the defensive side, too, moving my feet a little bit better. All in all, I thought it was a great night.”
