It’s not just Dillon Brooks who’s in hot water for his antics during Sunday’s 128-119 loss to the Milwaukee Bucks. Houston Rockets head coach Ime Udoka is now also being penalized for his actions in the final minute of the contest, which saw the second-year NBA shot-caller ejected from the game.
Right now, Udoka will need to dig deep into his pockets to make amends for his unsavory act.
Dillon Brooks, Ime Udoka Ejected Vs. Milwaukee Bucks
It all started when Dillon Brooks contested a flopping violation in the dying seconds of Sunday’s bout. The game was pretty much out of reach for the Rockets at that point, which could explain why emotions were running high for Brooks and the Rockets.
Brooks went on a profanity-laced tirade against the game official as he questioned the call, which prompted a quick ejection for the enigmatic Rockets forward. After seeing his player get tossed, Udoka decided to join in on the action by verbally attacking the referee as well.
Both Brooks and Udoka were forced to leave the playing court even before the final buzzer after both men were ejected.
Ime Udoka Fined $25,000
The NBA has decided to slap Brooks with a hefty $35,000 fine for his antics. As it turns out, the league isn’t letting Udoka get away scot-free either. The Rockets coach will now need to pay a $25,000 fine for “directing inappropriate language toward a game official,” per a statement by NBA Communications.
Udoka is one of the highest-paid coaches in the league today with a reported contract worth $28.5 million for four years. Nevertheless, $25K is still $25K.
