The Chicago Cubs are believed to be linked with Devin Williamsโ trade rumors. Williams to the Cubs will be great, but the Brewers will expect something more from the Cubs.
Chicago has young talented players and one of the best farm systems. If they get a great deal with the Cubs, they might just part ways with Williams. The Brewers have it all sorted out as they might just play their cards well. Milwaukee will not spend much and paying Williams a huge some is something they are capable of avoiding.

The Milwaukee Brewers declined Devin Williamsโ $10.5 million club option. The pitcher will get a buyout of $250.000 to remain with the team. One of the primary reasons for the team to delete the clubโs option was due to his injuries.
Williamsโ 2024 regular-season stars were not good enough. He has been a great close, but his injuries have taken the best of him. The Brew Crew will not want to risk an injury-prone player on their team next season. That said, Williams could be out of the list.
Milwaukeeโs manager Matt Arnold stated that the team in open-minded. Since the Brewers have declined Williamsโ club option, they are expected to get other teams showing their interest. As per multiple reports and rumors, the Brewers will not retain Williams for another season. Itโs a hard call but an efficient one for the team.ย
