Stephen A. Smith isn’t very confident about the Milwaukee Bucks right now. In fact, not only did the ESPN analyst rip the Bucks after losing to the Indiana Pacers for the fourth time this season, but Stephen A also went as far as saying that head coach Adrian Griffin could be fired in the near future.
At this point, it would be safe to say that Smith isn’t very impressed with what he’s seen from the Bucks thus far.
Stephen A Drops Truth Bomb on Milwaukee Bucks
Right now, the Bucks are second in the East with a 25-11 record. They sit 3.5 games behind the top-seeded Boston Celtics, who boast an unmatched 28-7 standing.
According to Smith, however, the Celtics aren’t the only problem the Bucks will face in the East. In fact, Stephen A firmly believes that both the Miami Heat and the Philadelphia 76ers are more than capable of taking down the Bucks at the moment:
“Miami can beat Milwaukee again,” Smith claimed (h/t Christopher Kuhagen of the Milwauee Journal Sentinel). “And oh, by the way, Philly can beat Milwaukee.”
Smith was quick to remind everyone that it was Jimmy Butler and the Heat who eliminated the Bucks in the first round of the playoffs last season. At this rate, the ESPN broadcaster is adamant that Miami will be able to repeat that feat if these two teams were matched up in the postseason again.
Stephen A wasn’t done. The controversial broadcaster rubbed more salt on Milwaukee’s wound by slapping them with the harsh reality of their current standing among elite NBA teams:
“Milwaukee might not even be a top four team when all is said and done if they keep this nonsense up,” Smith continued. “They better get it together, especially Adrian Griffin.”
To be fair, Stephen A did provide a clear caveat in his tirade. He did say that the Bucks will continue to struggle if they don’t shape up.
Even Giannis Antetokounmpo will be the first to admit that this current version of the Bucks is still quite a ways away from where they want to be. The good news for Milwaukee is that time is on their hands.
