You could definitely make a case for Giannis Antetokounmpo and Damian Lillard being the greatest Milwaukee Bucks duo of all time. The fact that there has already been a lot of talk pertaining to this notion even though they have not played a single minute of NBA basketball just yet (no, the preseason does not count) speaks volumes of just how great these two are individually.
If there was one pairing that could challenge this bold Giannis-Dame claim, it would have to be the duo of Kareem Abdul-Jabbar and Oscar Robertson.
Giannis Antetokounmpo, Damian Lillard Compared to Legendary Milwaukee Bucks Pairing
For his part, Hall of Fame big man Shaquille O’Neal firmly believes that Giannis and Lillard represent the second coming of Milwaukee’s iconic duo. Kareem and the Big O wreaked havoc on the NBA during the 1970s and Shaq is one of the believers that a similar era is upon us for the Bucks five decades later.
O’Neal took to Instagram to share a photo of Abdul-Jabbar and Robinson placed side-by-side with Giannis and Dame, who appear to have replicated the iconic photo of the legends that preceded them. Shaq approves:

Shaq did not get a chance to play against Kareem or Robertson, but there’s no denying that this man knows his basketball. He is widely considered one of the greatest big men to ever pick up a basketball and his opinions definitely hold a lot of stock.
For what it’s worth, Kareem and Robertson won a chip for the Bucks in 1971. That was Milwaukee’s first-ever franchise title. 50 years later, Giannis led the team to their second. It remains to be seen if Antetokounmpo and Lillard will be able to bag the third championship for the Bucks in the near future.
