The Milwaukee Bucks certainly will certainly be heading in a new direction in 2023. The Bucks moved on from their head coach Mike Budenholzer, to start, and hired Adrian Griffin to replace him. There will undoubtedly be roster changes made in the coming month, but how significant? Multiple reports are saying that the Bucks could land a 12X All-Star who was just waived by his current team.
Milwaukee Bucks Named A Top Landing Spot For 12X All-Star Chris Paul

Chris Paul had two years left on his four-year, $120 million deal. If he’s waived before the June 28th deadline, only $15.8 million of the $30.8 million he’s due to earn for the 2023-24 season ins guaranteed. The expectation, per ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, is that the Suns stretch and then waive Paul’s contract to create more cap space over a longer term.
The 12-time All-Star and former Rookie of the Year is sure to be a high-profile free agent this summer even as he’s entering the final stage of his playing career. While he’s sure to be a Hall of Famer eventually, Paul has never won an NBA title. He got the Suns to the NBA Finals in his first season there, but they fell to the Milwaukee Bucks. Of course, Paul returning to the Suns is always a possibility, but the Bucks have been named as one of the top landing spots for the guard:
The Milwaukee Bucks are a natural potential landing spot for Chris Paul. They could use a natural playmaker on the offense and Paul, if nothing else, is that at this point in his career. Any team that signs him should not expect him to play a big role and that’s why the Bucks make sense.
Additionally, Paul playing next to Jrue Holiday, Khris Middleton, and Giannis Antetokounmpo should help with his concerns on the defensive end of the floor. If he’s looking for one last shot at winning a title, there is a strong argument to be made that the Bucks would be a great choice.
That type of move would be major for the Bucks’ depth at the guard position. It would be tricky getting Jrue Holiday and Chris Paul both adequate playing time, but not impossible.
