The Miami Heat are going to be shorthanded on Tuesday night when they host the Milwaukee Bucks at the Kaseya Center. This is after Jimmy Butler was ruled out for the highly-anticipated contest due to an ankle injury.
Butler will be joining Tyler Herro on the sidelines as the former Sixth Man of the Year sits out his 10th straight game, also with an ankle problem.
The good news for Miami is that All-Star big man Bam Adebayo is now good to go.
Bam Adebayo Upgraded Vs. Milwaukee Bucks
Adebayo missed Miami’s last game due to a hip injury. He was unable to help his team overcome the Brooklyn Nets on Saturday, which resulted in a 112-97 loss for the Heat.
On Monday, the Heat listed Adebayo on the injury report with the same hip issue. He was tagged as probable, though, which meant that there was little doubt that he would be available against the Bucks.
True enough, Miami has now upgraded their star big man to available less than two hours prior to tipoff. This development was somewhat expected, but it’s still going to allow Heat fans to breathe a sigh of relief now that it’s official.
Adebayo will need to do most of the heavy lifting for Miami with Butler and Herro both sidelined. R.J. Hampton and Dru Smith are both unavailable as well, while Haywood Highsmith remains questionable to play.
Duncan Robinson, on the other hand, is probable to play with a right thumb sprain, so he too could see a significant uptick in his usage rate against Milwaukee if he’s able to go.
