The Milwaukee Brewers bounced back during game two against the Pittsburgh Pirates as they won by a score of 7-3. This game was blowout until the ninth inning when the Pirates plated all three of their runs and caused Brewers closer Devin Williams to start getting loose. Otherwise Milwaukee’s offense shined and two rookies both collected their first career triples.
Andruw Monasterio and Sal Frelick both collected their first career triples as the Milwaukee Brewers defeated the Pittsburgh Pirates.
During the fifth inning Andruw Monasterio collected the teams first hit of the night by belting a triple into left center field. The ball traveled 409 feet and it would have been a home run in 28 out of 30 ball parks. Besides PNC Park the only other place that wasn’t a home run was Coors Field.
Three innings later Sal Frelick also tripled. His ball was hit to dead center in which Pirates center fielder Jack Suwinski was unable to make a leaping grab at the wall. The ball then ricocheted back towards the infield and Frelick made it to third base with ease.
Game three, the rubber match, between the Brewers and Pirates will start at 11:35 AM CT on Wednesday, September 6 and will feature Freddy Peralta and Mitch Keller on the mound.
