The Milwaukee Brewers and Minnesota Twins start a two game series on Tuesday, August 22. One thing to look for in this game is the ceremonial first pitch because a Milwaukee legend is scheduled to toss the ball to home plate. He also admits to being a former baseball player and states that he, “will have no problem” with the throw.
Milwaukee legend John Hamann “Milverine” to throw out the first pitch prior to the Milwaukee Brewers and Minnesota Twins game.
Milverine is a local legend in Milwaukee who gained popularity fast due to his shirtless speed walks around town. At first glance he resembles Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine character from the X-Men series. This is how the nickname “Milverine” was born.
In a video announcing that he will be throwing out the ceremonial first pitch on Tuesday night, John Hamman says, “I will have no problem throwing the ball to the catcher because I grew up playing baseball and I was a pitcher.”
