The Milwaukee Brewers have added a plethora of talent to their organization as the 2024 international signing period has officially begun. MLB Pipeline’s 12th ranked prospect Jorge Quintana was their biggest signing in which he is a very well rounded shortstop with star potential.
After Quintana the next highest ranked player that Milwaukee signed was shortstop Jesus Made. He too is a switch hitter but one thing going his way is that he has above average power. Given how much raw power he already possesses there is a lot to be excited about regarding Made.
Milwaukee Brewers international signee Jesus Made has great power potential.
At 16 years old Made has a tall and lean body. He is already 6’1″ and 165 lbs, but there is room to add more muscle and strength as he continues to grow and develop. Prior to signing he had been training in the Dominican Republic with Basilio Vizcaino, a member of MLB’s Trainer Partnership Program.
At the plate scouts say that Made currently has a good feel for the strike zone and that his power translates to both sides of the plate. He has an upper cut to his swing that currently results in a lot of baseball going into the gaps, but over time those may transition to home runs.
MLB Pipeline indicates that he has the ability to make an immediate impact with the Brewers. Given this it will be interesting to see if the Brewers have him skip the Arizona Complex League in year two or not. Prospects Jackson Chourio and Luis Lara were treated this way and Milwaukee’s recent track record with talented prospects is to advance them quicker.
