The Milwaukee Brewers are 66-44, owners of the best record in Major League Baseball, and hold a two-game lead over the Chicago Cubs for first place in the National League Central Division. On Sunday, they will look to complete the series and season sweep of the Washington Nationals in the nation’s capital, but will have to do so without rookie All-Star pitcher Jacob Misiorowski, who was scheduled to start.
On Sunday morning, the Brewers announced that Misiorowski is being placed on the 15-day injured list with a left tibia contusion.

During his last start, an outing against the Chicago Cubs, Misiorowski got hit by a line drive. Apparently, it is still hurting enough for him to miss two starts while on the injured list.
The Milwaukee Brewers Recall Logan Henderson to Replace Jacob Misiorowski

The decision to put Misiorowski on the 15-day injured list may not be popular with fans, but the team is certainly doing whatever it can to preserve their rookie phenom for the postseason. During his last start, Misiorowski surpassed the number of innings he pitched last year, which had been his career-high.
To replace Misiorowski, Milwaukee recalled Logan Henderson, another one of their top prospects who made his Major League debut earlier this year.
During his first stint with the Brewers, Henderson became the first pitcher in franchise history to win each of his first three starts. Misiorowski became the second pitcher in franchise history to do it a couple months later.
In four Major League starts, Henderson is 3-0 with a 1.71 ERA. He also struck out 29 batters in the 21.0 innings he pitched. He has yet to allow more than two runs in a Major League start.
Down in Nashville, Henderson is 10-4 with a 3.59 ERA.
