The Milwaukee Brewers, at 66-44, have the best record in all Major League Baseball and currently have a two-game lead over the Chicago Cubs for first place in the National League Central Division. On Sunday, they look to sweep the Washington Nationals in the nation’s capital after having won the first two games with an offensive onslaught that has seen them put up 40 hits in just two games.
Should they complete the series sweep on Sunday, it will also mean they would sweep the entire season series against Washington. They will not, however, have the services of rookie phenom Jacob Misiorowski, who was scheduled to start the series finale.
The Milwaukee Brewers Place Jacob Misiorowski on IL, Recall Logan Henderson

In his previous start against the Cubs, Misiorowski has hit in the leg by line drive. He also surpassed his career-high in innings pitched with two months remaining in the season. With these two things considered, Milwaukee decided to place their All-Star rookie on the 15-day injured list, meaning he will miss two starts.

Misiorowski is 4-1 this season with a 2.70 ERA this season in only starts. He has not, however, pitched more than four innings in an outing since July 8.
He is being replaced in the rotation by Logan Henderson, who made his Major League debut for the Brewers earlier this year. He is 3-0 with a 1.71 ERA in four starts for Milwaukee this year.
Milwaukee Brewers Fans Are Upset Jacob Misiorowski Is Going on the Injured List

Brewers fans were already not feeling great about the health of the team due to the injury to Jackson Chourio that could, at least according to manager Pat Murphy, keep him out for up to a month. Additionally, Gold Glove right fielder Sal Frelick was removed from the game on Saturday with knee soreness and is not playing on Sunday.
Needless to say, this Misiorowski news was not what they wanted to hear:
