Milwaukee Brewers southpaw DL Hall completed his first rehab game on Sunday, May 19 with the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers. He checked all the necessary boxes in the outing and will pitch next in Triple-A with the Nashville Sounds. One big question that has yet to be answered is if he will come back as a starter or a reliever.
DL Hall sat 94-95 MPH during his first rehab start with the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers.

As planned DL Hall was the games starter for the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers on Sunday, May 19. Also predetermined was that he would pitch just one inning. He ended up checking a lot of boxes in just one inning as he retired the only three batters he faced that included one strikeout. Of his 11 pitches thrown eight were for strikes and his fastball sat at 94 MPH and topped out at 95 MPH.
Up next for DL Hall is a rehab appearance with the Nashville Sounds in Triple-A.

Per Jack Stern of Brewer Fanatic DL Hall will go to Triple-A next. His next few appearances may be similar to the one inning stint that he had with the Timber Rattlers. Stern indicated that the goal is making sure the velocity is still there and then a determination about how much they want to stretch him out will be made after that.
Should DL Hall return as a starting pitcher or reliever for the Milwaukee Brewers?

DL Hall began the year in the starting rotation. He had been training to be a starter prior to being traded during the off-season and built up accordingly during Spring Training. Unfortunately he posted a 7.71 ERA during his first four starts before landing on the injured list after he flared up a chronic knee issue.
As the roster stands today the Brewers currently have Freddy Peralta, Colin Rea, Robert Gasser, Joe Ross, and Bryse Wilson as healthy starting rotation options. Their bullpen already has lefties Hoby Milner, Bryan Hudson, and Jared Koenig, but Hall had success as a reliever with the Baltimore Orioles last year. It will be interesting to see how the Brewers use Hall going forward.
