The Milwaukee Brewers have a highly coveted trade target in starting pitcher Corbin Burnes. Reports have been mixed this off-season towards the Crews true intentions in retaining him or trading him, but as teams start to miss out on free agents his trade interest should continue to gain steam.

Over the weekend Shohei Ohtani signed the largest contract in sports history. His deal with the Los Angeles Dodgers is 10 years in length and worth $700 million. It also includes a lot of deferred money that will give the Dodgers financial flexibility over the next decade.
Prior to signing with the Dodgers Shohei Ohtani had been playing with the second Los Angeles team in the Angels. They were rumored to be attempting to re-sign him but ultimately he chose elsewhere. His decision leaves the Angels in need of a starting pitcher replacement and creates a big hole in their offensive lineup.

The Los Angeles Angels are showing trade interest in Milwaukee Brewers starting pitcher Corbin Burnes.
Ken Rosenthal, writer at The Athletic, reported that the Angels are one of the teams interested in pursuing a starting pitcher with under one year of club control remaining. He then goes on to mention Corbin Burnes, Tyler Glasnow, and Shane Bieber. Currently their starting rotation consists of Patrick Sandoval, Reid Detmers, Tyler Anderson, Chase Silseth, and Griffin Canning.

If the Brewers and Angels were to strike a deal it would not be the first time in recent history that the two sides have worked together. Last off-season they got together when Milwaukee sent outfielder Hunter Renfroe out west in exchange for three pitchers.
One complicating factor regarding a potential deal is the fact that the Angels farm system was not highly regarded around the league last off-season and it still is not today. A Corbin Burnes trade package would obviously look drastically different from what Hunter Renfroe commanded, so Milwaukee may want to turn their attention elsewhere.
