Milwaukee Brewers starting pitcher Brandon Woodruff recently joined Foul Territory TV in which he discussed a variety of topics. Subjects discussed ranged from his Halloween costume, his shoulder surgery, his desire for a contract extension, and his thoughts on manager Craig Counsell.

A good portion of his segment was spent on how his surgery went, how he is doing, the recovery, and the possibility of pitching again in 2024. Surprisingly Brandon Woodruff did indicate that multiple doctors have indicated that there is a possibility of him throwing next summer. When news regarding him undergoing shoulder surgery was first announced it was thought that he was going to miss all of next season.
Milwaukee Brewers pitcher Brandon Woodruff has not ruled out pitching in 2024.

During the show Brandon Woodruff indicated that he was two weeks out from his shoulder surgery and that he had his sutures removed earlier that same day. Overall he is happy with how things went and mentally is prepared to rehab his shoulder.
“Everything went really well with the surgery. I’m glad to get everything fixed and ready to go.”
“I did everything I could to prevent this from happening and it’s just one of those things in this sport and it just happens. I look at it like I got a brand new shoulder. I just gotta rehab it and I’ll be ready to go.”

Looking ahead to the future Brandon Woodruff acknowledged that he is very early in post operative course/recovery, but he has received news that throwing in 2024 is possible and that is his goal.
“I’m two weeks into this thing and from talking with doctors, multiple doctors, there is a possibility of being open to me throwing at some point next summer. Now I’ve got a long way to go, but that is a possibility for me. As an athlete you have to set goals and something to look forward too.”
A lot can happen between now and whenever Brandon Woodruff starts throwing a baseball again, but for now it is encouraging that he is in a good place post operatively and has his sights set on returning.
