The #18 Marquette Golden Eagles are 2-0 this season. On Friday night they defeated the George Mason Patriots 82-63. On Monday night, Marquette is back in action again at home against the Central Michigan Chippewas with tip-off scheduled for 8 p.m. CT.
Central Michigan this season is 1-1. They last played against the Stony Brook Seawolves on Thursday and they lost that game at home 73-72.

Players To Watch For On the Marquette Golden Eagles Against the Central Michigan Chippewas
There has been a surprise on the Golden Eagles roster during the first two games of the 2024-2025 college basketball season. On Friday night, David Joplin led Marquette in scoring with 27 points and he also grabbed 10 rebounds. This is a good sign for head coach Shaka Smart that Joplin is playing well early in the season.
Kam Jones scored 24 points, grabbed five rebounds, and recorded eight assists for the Marquette Golden Eagles. This is the second straight game this season that Jones scored over 20 points for Marquette. Two other players were in double figures for the Golden Eagles.
Chase Ross scored 11 points and Ben Gold added 10 points for Marquette against George Mason. This is the second straight game that Ross scored in double figures.

Players To Watch For On Central Michigan
Tony Barbee is the head coach for the Chippewas. It will be interesting to see what kind of performance they will have against the Golden Eagles after losing a close game the other night. Jakobi Heady led the way for Central Michigan with 15 points and grabbed eight rebounds in the last game.
Anthony Pritchard scored 12 points, grabbed three rebounds, and recorded six assists. Ugnius Jarusevicius scored 10 points and grabbed six rebounds off the bench. Damarion Bonds also scored 10 points and grabbed three rebounds off the bench for the Central Michigan Chippewas.
The Marquette Golden Eagles could be in for another first-half battle against Central Michigan. However, the Golden Eagles should be able to pull away with ease in the second half.
