Earlier this off-season the Packers franchise tagged Davante Adams in hopes for a long term deal. It was quickly understood that he had no intentions of playing under a franchise tag. It was also understood soon after that Adams had no desire to continue his career in Green Bay.
Many presumed from the start that it was to play with QB Derek Carr. As details slowly come out regarding his desire to be traded, we are realizing that it is much deeper than that:
Mark Murphy tells @tomgrossicomedy that Davante’s grandmother, due to health reasons, never had an opportunity to see him play in Green Bay. By going to Vegas, she’ll finally be able to ❤️ https://t.co/XeLiWgjqUV

How do you compete with family? You simply can’t. I totally respect Adams for making the decision to choose family over work. We wish you nothing but the best of luck in Las Vegas #17 and we hope your grandmother can see you break records out west.
