NFL draft prospects are not the only ones impressing at the NFL combine. Former Packers quarterback Kurt Benkert was invited to throw some passes at the combine and it seems scouts are taking notice.
#NFLCombine QB Kurt Benkert getting atta-boys on the field from BAL and other team guys.
He passed on playing in XFL this spring to be in Indy and in front of teams again.
If he wants back in the league he may have to lose the Man-bun, but has been talking it up on the field

Kurt Benkert At The NFL Combine
With the XFL and USFL both kicking off in the spring, Benkert most likely had the opportunity to join one of those teams. Instead, he decided to pass and accept the invite to the NFL combine. It may just pay off for him. A lot of teams verbally expressed their thoughts on Benkert’s play. He got to show off his skills in front of NFL scouts, coaches, and general managers. His week in Indianapolis could earn him a roster spot in the fall.

More Quarterbacks On The Roster?
One of the big offseason discussions is whether teams should be allowed to carry a third quarterback. The San Francisco 49ers ran into this issue in the NFC Championship Game when Brock Purdy and his backup went down with injuries. This left the 49ers in an impossible situation where Purdy had to play injured. The hope is that this year teams will be able to carry a third quarterback come game day so this issue does not happen again. If so, Benkert could find himself on an NFL roster.
It is hard not to cheer for Kurt Benkert. The hope is that he finds himself on an NFL roster come the fall.
