The Packers are coming off a 41-17 drubbing of the Minnesota Vikings. After falling to 4-8, many thought that this team was down and out. The Packers have miraculously come back thanks in big part to their defense. A big part of that defense is Jaire Alexander. During the week, there was much talk about how many yards Justin Jefferson would get during the game, especially on FS1’s Undisputed. After the game, Jaire Alexander called out Skip Bayless and Shannon Sharpe.
Jaire Alexander: “Tell Shannon Sharpe and Skip Bayless they need to watch what they say when they talk about me, you feel me? They need to watch what they put out. Talkin’ about, ‘He a good corner.’ I’m a great corner.” pic.twitter.com/a5gamcyH4U

Jaire Alexander Calls Out Skip Bayless And Shannon Sharpe
Alexander had a lockdown day at corner. Jefferson finished with one catch for 15 yards. After torching the Packers in week 1, he laid an egg today. Jaire Alexander wants people to take notice of the performance especially Skip Bayless and Shannon Sharpe.
“Tell Shannon Sharpe and Skip Bayless they need to watch what they say when they talk about me, you feel me? They need to watch what they put out. Talkin’ about, ‘He a good corner.’ I’m a great corner.”
Clearly, Alexander took issue with being called simply a “good corner”. He wants the respect he deserves for being one of the premier corners in the game.
Tough To Be A Lockdown Corner
Being a defensive back in this league is tough. The reason for all of the talk about Alexander during the week was because of the big game that Jefferson had in week 1. However, the NFL is set up for offenses. Receivers get open sometimes and that happens. The issue is that anytime a receiver gets a catch or has a big game against a corner, we automatically call him overrated. Alexander and the defense got beat in week 1. They recovered and shut down one of the best receivers in the game.
It will be interesting to hear what Skip Bayless and Shannon Sharpe have to say about Jaire Alexander and the Packers on Monday. The Packers are one win away from making it into the playoffs after a rough start to the season. If Alexander and the defense can keep playing like this, they will be a tough out in January.
