It’s not a secret that the Green Bay Packers have some of, if not the most passionate fans in all of the NFL. Look no further to the fact that the team is a publicly-owned team and not ruled by a single billionaire owner or a small group.
Any team can sell out its home stadium but how many NFL fandoms can boast how well they travel to visiting stadiums and even other countries? The Packers fans travel well and it’s no secret. The four-time Super Bowl champions (and 11-time pre-AFL/NFL merger champions) have incredible fans who will follow their team anywhere and everywhere. A recent report had the Packers sitting in second in the NFL, only behind the Bills fans in terms of travelling on away games.
Do Packers Fans Travel Well?
Fans in Canada
Let’s start with the Great White North.
It would make sense that there are pockets of various teams who are close to the border. The Bills, Seahawks, Vikings, or even the Lions are all right there. But there is a strong contingent of Packers fans who reside in our northern neighbors.
Owning Packers stock was a uniquely American experience up until 2021. It was then when Canadians could buy and sell stock in the team and there was a clamor to take advantage.

Cheeseheads Across the Pond
The NFL has been working hard to market its brand to non-American markets. They have lined out marketing strategies for 14 countries and the Packers were not one. Even during the yearly NFL International Series, the Packers were not selected to play in any overseas games until 2022 where they lost to the New York Giants in London.
Even then, there is a healthy number of Packers fans.
In London, there are plenty of Packers-themed bars like Belushi’s Sports Bar at the London Bridge. International Packers fans can enjoy a Packers menu topped off with Miller beer and cheese curds. They are the home of Packers Everywhere pap rallies and want to make it feel like traveling Packers fans never left home.
Continental Packers
Meanwhile, back home, how well do the Packers fans travel to rival NFL stadiums?
Very well.
Packers fans travel so well that they end up driving up ticket prices in opposing stadiums and they’ll still buy them! In a study in 2015 via VividSeats, they found that the Packers faithful drove up ticket prices around 66% for their away contests. The Cowboys come in at second-best with a 54% increase.
Fans come from all over no matter where the game is played. Game in Chicago while you live in Washington? Road trip!
“Go Pack Go!” can be heard at nearly every Packers away game, much to the chagrin of struggling teams’ fans.
Sometimes, fans reside in cities of non-rivals and just get to see their team once in a blue moon, like in Cincinnati. Other times, you’ll find pockets of fans in enemy territory like Chicago, Detroit, or Minneapolis.
No matter where the Packers play, they’ll be heavily supported. If you are reading this as a fan of any of the other 31 teams, make sure you get your tickets early if your team is set to face off against Green Bay. You’re going to have to pay a pretty penny for that seat!
