The Green Bay Packers will go against the Texans at noon on Sunday. This game is a tale of two Super Bowl contenders and two of the future MVP quarterbacks. This might be the game of the year.
Last time the Houston Texans went 5-1 they played against Packers on Oct. 14, 2012. Green Bay defeated Houston 42-24. Aaron Rodgers set a career high and tied a franchise record with six touchdown passes.
The Packers come into this one off of a 34-13 win against the Cardinals. Jordan Love had 264 yards passing with four touchdowns and only one interception. The Packers offense had 437 total yards and two turnovers to their league leading tally of takeaways.
The Texans are coming off a 41-21 win against the Patriots. Running back Joe Mixon returned from an ankle injury to the tune of 132 yards rushing and two touchdowns. CJ Stroud was 20 of 31 with 192 yards passing with three touchdowns and only one interception. Houston also defeated the Bills and Jaguars.
Statistical rankings for both teams this season
The Green Bay Packers offense currently comes in at 4th in the NFL in yards with 400, and 8th in points scored with 27. On defense, the Packers rank 18th in yards allowed at 338.7 per game, and 9th in points allowed at 20.2.
The Houston Texans ranked 6th in total yards with 375.2 and 5th in passing yards with 256.3. It also ranked 14th in rushing yards at 118.8 and the points per game at 23.8.
The Packers being a well-rounded offense
The Green Bay Packers are more dynamic on offense. They have the right pieces for the system that they are in to be successful. First off, credit has to go out to Packers head coach Matt Lafleur and his phenomenal system.
Green Bay has a balanced attack. The Packers are good on the ground and in the air. They aren’t going to be slinging it in the air on every possession. Having that solid passing and running game wins a lot of games.
Texans WR Nico Collins
Houston Texans quarterback CJ Stroud pre-snap cadence won’t work in Lambeau Field & wide receiver Nico Collins has a bad hamstring. This is a huge blow to the Texans offense. Collins, despite missing last week and now currently being on the injured reserve, still leads the NFL with 567 receiving yards.
The Houston Texans will be tested against the 4-2 Green Bay Packers. The NFC North has been the division in football this season. The Packers crushed Arizona 34-13 Sunday. No cream cake here.
