The Green Bay Packers will have nothing to lose this weekend as they take on the Dallas Cowboys on the road in the NFC playoffs. Green Bay was supposed to be in a rebuild season but they finished with a 9-8 record and the seventh seed in the NFC.
As for the Dallas Cowboys, they finished with a 12-5 record for the third consecutive season and won the NFC East for the second time in three seasons. The last time Green Bay played Dallas in the playoffs was in 2017 and the Packers won that matchup 34-31 over the Cowboys in Dallas, Texas.
Not many are giving the Green Bay Packers the chance to pull off the upset against the Dallas Cowboys. Green Bay is big-time underdogs this weekend and Dallas has yet to lose at home this season. However, the playoffs are a different game and it is a brand new season after all.
A former NFL executive told NFL Analysis Network about the possibility of the Packers having a chance against the Cowboys this weekend by saying:
“This is a team that no one wants to play in the playoffs. I’m not saying they’re going to beat Dallas, but I think the Packers have a very good shot. They may be an underdog, but they’re going to put on a good show and give the Cowboys a run for their money at the very least.”
Green Bay Packers Will Have a Puncher’s Chance Because of the Offense Against the Dallas Cowboys
One of the reasons why Green Bay has a slim chance of beating Dallas on Sunday is because of how well the offense has played as of late. Quarterback Jordan Love has been the NFC Offensive Player of the Week back-to-back weeks. Love has had several games this season where he has had two or more touchdown passes with zero interceptions.
No other quarterback in the NFL had that and that includes guys like Patrick Mahomes and Josh Allen. The issue with this game is that Joe Barry’s defense is going to have no answers for Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott. Dallas is going to score at will against Green Bay. It is possible Love plays flawlessly this weekend and they still lose the game.
