The Green Bay Packers have some very exciting rookies this season. Tight end Luke Musgrave and wide receiver Jayden Reed, both second round picks in the 2023 NFL Draft, are on pace to break Sterling Sharpe’s franchise record for receptions by a rookie. Given how many rookies make up both position groups, that is not very surprising.
However, other rookie players are making their mark on the team, too, especially now that the offense is starting to hit its stride. Dontayvion Wicks is viewed by many to be the next wide receiver one on the team while Tucker Kraft has started to make the most of the few targets he gets.
In Sunday’s victory over the Los Angeles Chargers, Kraft had two receptions for 32 yards. Coming into the game, he had three receptions for 11 yards, with one of those coming in last week’s loss to Pittsburgh Steelers. His 27-yard reception that set up a Jordan Love touchdown pass to Christian Watson was nearly a touchdown itself. In fact, it was ruled a touchdown on the field before replay showed he had stepped out of bounds.
After the game, Kraft posted a hilarious self-criticism of himself in response to this play and had one of the best Jordan Love comparisons to date.
Green Bay Packers Tight End Tucker Kraft Responds to Near Touchdown Play

Kraft’s catch and run was a sight to behold, as he leaped over defenders and danced along the sideline in an attempt to stay inbounds. After the game, Kraft poked fun at his own feet for his failing to score on that play:

Obviously, a tight end who can move and run like that is far from clumsy. Still, it is nice to see that he was able to laugh off the play being called back.
Winning sure helps.
Tucker Kraft Compares Green Bay Packers Quarterback Jordan Love to Doc Holiday from Tombstone

Despite the win, the Packers are still just 4-6 and outside of the NFC Playoff picture. While there is still time for them to make an improbable run, the fact of the matter is that this young team has made plenty of mistakes as it learns and grows together.
Through all the ups and downs, their quarterback has remained calm, cool, and collected. He has not let the successes inflate his ego, nor has he let the down moments wreck his confidence.
After the win over the Chargers, Kraft compared Love to Doc Holiday from the movie Tombstone:

“Jordan is one of those guys. He’s really cool. Reminds me of Doc from the movie Tombstone.”

The character portrayed by Val Kilmer is one of the most iconic characters of the Western genre, and the movie itself is regarded by many movie enthusiasts to be one of the best modern Westerns.
The comparison makes a lot of sense. In the move, Holiday is a gambler dying of of tubercolosis, but does not let his personal struggles get in the way of helping Wyatt Earp (Kurt Russell) rid Tombstone of the outlaws that have overrun it. Similarly, Love has not let his personal struggles get in the way of leading the Packers’ offense. To be sure, very few of their losses can be pinned on him and him alone.
So, I’ll just leave this here:
